Say What?!

I always thought there should be a website that documented these things and now I've discovered it. Thanks Holly! I might even post the story of the Red Lobster table for 20 I overheard on 33rd btw 2nd and 3rd about a week ago. Sometimes its good to leave the ipod at home in favor for the sounds of the city.

Marta Madness

This is Marta. She was a sweetheart. She is from Brazil and she doesn't speak English. Not a little English, zero English. It makes communication. . . . well. . . . rather complicated. This means that all the poses you see her do on my website, at some point, I did them as well. If you can stop laughing long enough, check them out!

Stir Crazy

Waiting at the airport on our way back to Chicago. Hmmmmm. . . . I wonder who spent the most time at the beach. I'm probably going to get yelled at for teaching them bad habits, but isn't that what an uncle is supposed to do?

Beach Blog

This is our last day in sunny Florida. Next I'm off to sunny Chicago! Predicted 80 and sunny tomorrow, not too shabby. I had a great time on my Florida adventure! Decided to skip the beach shoot in favor of spending more time with my niece and nephews. Priorities. In that time I learned alot about kids. For one thing, never give them an option on whether they want to watch more cartoons they will always say yes. They also taught me alot about Dora the Explorer and Camp Lazlo. Anyone have any questions I would be happy to oblige. Off to the beach to even out my tan. . . now I'm just rubbing it in.

Why is there a Midwest?

Why is there a northeast for that matter. The phrase "Why is there a Midwest" was uttered by yours truly one day while driving from Key West back to Miami about 5 years ago? But it still hold true today. Nothing like a couple of days in the sun to re-energize yourself. But I must admit, downfall, sand gets everywhere. Other than that I must say it's all good. So now that I live in NYC I must adjust the phrase to "Why is there a Northeast?" Seriously, New York must have been something around the turn of the previous century, but since the advent of AC, why do people still live there? I must admit, summers are great in cities like Chicago and New York but only because the temperatures mimic places like this? I guess we like what we don't have, or because winter sucks we appreciate summer more. blah blah blah. I guess thats why god invented vacation. . . oh and sunscreen.

The Shins - Pink Bullets

Such an amazing video if you haven't seen it yet!

New Wilco? Yes Sir.

The new Wilco album comes out May 15th. If "What Light" is any indication, another Chicago band makes another amazing album! You can download it at their site and it goes right into your i-tunes.

SPF 30 Please

Ask and you shall receive. I asked for 80 and sunny and by my sunburn I guess my request has been answered. I missed the 100 year storm in NYC which brought 8 inches of rain to Central Park. To be honest, I would have enjoyed being in NY for that storm, (I'm kinda into weather, don't tell anybody). I'm having a great time with my niece and nephews, its a great opportunity to spend more quality time with them and they seem to be enjoying it as well. I'm planning a shoot for either Thursday or Friday so look for photo updates towards the beginning of next week. It will be nice to have images that take place outside of my apt, I mean my island theme beauty story was nice, but having an actual island to shoot on will be much nicer.

Karl Squared

We tried to give my nephew Karl hair like his uncle, but he wasn't having it. He needs to grow that facial hair alittle bit as well, but he's got some time in that dept. Easter was very nice at my brothers house in Chicago. Erik as usual wanted to play with his matchbox cars, and Lauren was a little princess. I also discovered that I'm going to be an uncle for the 4th time! Congratulations to Theresa and Fred! They are truly blessed. Happy Easter!

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

So much for exotic ports of call. Chicago is freezing! They even cancelled the White Sox game because of the cold. How pathetic. I've never heard of cancelling a baseball game due to cold weather. Let's man-up huh guys? Anyway, looking forward to Florida, and it better be 80 and sunny!

Pimp Your Mac

Once again the Jet Blue terminal at JFK pays dividends. My flight was delayed to Chicago yesterday, but thanks to free internet and a friendly fellow Mac user I learned a cool new application to pimp out my Mac. Shapeshifter allows you to change the look and feel of your Mac so it doesn't look like your neighbors at the local Starbucks. Check it out!

Exotic Ports of Call

Well, not that exotic. I will however be traveling quite a bit in the next month. Chicago to Florida, back to Chicago and then over to NYC. I plan on doing some shooting both in Chicago and in Florida. Carrying all this gear through JFK has been anything but fun, add on the chocolate covered Easter eggs for the kids and that have to be handled separately for breakage concerns, and I have become that annoying traveler that everyone hates. But hopefully it will be worth it in the end. I'm excited about shooting in FL. I just shot an "island" themed beauty story and it has given me the itch to hang out on the beach. The flower district provided nice banana leaves as a backdrop, although my NY apt is anything but tropical (see insert). Aloha!
